PVO Board approves fundraiser for Wentzloff
The Prairieview-Ogden Board of Education has approved a fundraiser for St. Joseph-Ogden Junior and volleyball player Anna Wentzloff.
Wentzloff has Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
“The Anna fundraiser is being organized by Tracey Mathis,” Superintendent Vic White said. “She talked about doing a 50/50, donations, shirts, ect.”
White said the fundraiser will probably take place when St. Joseph Middle School plays PVO in volleyball.
In other PVO volleyball news, the middle school volleyball teams now have the option to wear spandex bottoms.
Some seventh and eighth-grade volleyball players and the head coach spoke to the Board of Education in October.
They requested that the team have the option to wear spandex bottoms instead of shorts for their volleyball uniforms.
“They wanted to be like all there set of the volleyball teams and have a choice to wear spandex or shorts,” said White.
The Board of Education passed a motion to allow a choice between spandex or shorts for the uniform bottoms. The motion states if parents want their daughter to wear spandex then parents will purchase the spandex bottoms.
