Heritage basketball wins five games

Cameron Johnson scored a game-high 18 points on Monday (Dec. 12) as the Heritage seventh-grade boys’ basketball team captured its fifth win in the past six games, posting a 33-22 win at Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond.
Landin McComas netted eight points and Dylan Kirshner tallied the team’s other seven points.
On Thursday (Dec. 8), Heritage lost at home to Bismarck-Henning, 39-28, on a night when McComas’ 14 points led the team. Johnson tallied 10 points and Kirshner contributed four points.
The seventh-graders have an 8-5 overall record.
The Heritage eighth-graders lost their last two outings.
Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond found its way to a 42-33 win at home on Monday (Dec. 12).
Johnson’s 12 points was the team’s best total. Clark Roland hit 10 points, McComas totaled nine points and Kaden White made two points.
On Thursday (Dec. 8) at Homer, the eighth-graders dropped a 48-29 decision to Bismarck-Henning.
Roland, who has scored in double figures in nine consecutive games, spearheaded the offense with a 15-point performance. Johnson chipped in with six points.
The eighth-graders have a season record of 3-10.
Both Heritage teams return to action on Thursday (Dec. 15) at home against Schlarman Academy.
