Rajilich named SJO Female Student Athlete for October

Hannah Rajlich is more than a cross country standout.

She is also a team leader who has a positive attitude.

“She is a positive role model who works hard every day,” said Cross Country Coach Jason Retz.

Retz nominated the St. Joseph-Ogden junior for student-athlete of the month.

“Hannah goes above and beyond for her sport,” Retz said. “Her attention to details is outstanding.”

Rajlich competed in the state meet this past weekend and placed 86th in 19:20.

Rajlich said she enjoys being a student-athlete at SJO.

“The best thing about being a student-athlete at SJO is the atmosphere,” she said. “The whole community is always cheering us on.”

Rajlich said the most difficult thing about being a student-athlete at SJO is balancing school and her athletics.

However, Rajlich plans on continuing to balance school and athletics in college.

She said she hopes to attend college out of state and major in human nutrition or food science.

“I also hope to have the opportunity to run cross country,” she said.

Rajlich said she was honored to be named student-athlete of the month.

“I am honored that my coaches nominated me for athlete of the month,” she said. “And that they can see my dedication to school and running.”
