Hawks defeats Sullivan in fourth-quarter rally

The Heritage Hawks used a fourth-quarter rally on Tuesday (Feb. 14) to pull out a boys’ basketball victory at Sullivan.
Entering the final eight minutes, the Hawks trailed, 31-26, before regrouping for a 46-41 triumph.
Drew Williams led the way, netting 15 points. Timmy Wilson hit 10 points and Julliyan Gray contributed seven points.
Gray, Wilson, Rylan White and Aaron Coffin all dropped in three-point shots for Heritage.
Sullivan led, 9-6, after one quarter. The teams were tied at halftime, 17-17.
On Monday (Feb. 13), Heritage fell behind early and couldn’t catch up late, dropping a 55-43 non-conference decision at Danville Schlarman Academy.
Gray led the Hawks with 17 points. Wilson scored nine points, Williams added eight points and White finished with seven points.
Gray and Wilson each netted one three-pointer.
Schlarman led, 15-8, after one quarter and 27-14 at halftime.
The Hawks (8-21) return to action on Thursday (Feb. 16) in their regular-season finale at home against Arcola. Heritage will start its postseason journey on Saturday (Feb. 18).
The 14th-seeded Hawks will travel to Bethany to face fourth-seeded Okaw Valley in a 1 p.m. IHSA Class 1A regional quarterfinal contest.
