Coy Hayes competes at IWCOA Freshmen-Sophomore wrestling state tournament

St. Joseph-Ogden freshman Coy Hayes lost both of his matches on Saturday (March 11) in the IWCOA Freshmen-Sophomore wrestling state tournament at the BOS Center, in Springfield.

Hayes dropped a 10-4 decision in his first state bout and then was pinned in 4 minutes and 5 seconds in his second bout.

For the season, Hayes had an overall record of 32-24.

Each weight class had 32 participants. In all, 211 Illinois high schools had entries.
