Salt Fork rallies to defeat SJ-O softball

Shayne Immke and Peyton Jones each swatted three hits on Wednesday (March 15) as the St. Joseph-Ogden softball team evened its season record at 1-1 with a 13-1 non-conference conquest at Downs Tri-Valley.
Immke hammered two triples and a home run. Jones also swiped two bases.
Alyssa Acton added two hits and picked up the pitching win. She struck out three and walked no one while twirling a five-hitter.
Hallie Brazelton had two RBI and Timera Blackburn-Kelley swiped two bases. Addie Martinie scored two runs.
Immke collected four hits (two of which were doubles) and Jones added two hits on Tuesday (March 14). They combined to score six runs, but Salt Fork scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and edged the Spartans in extra innings, 11-10, in a non-conference softball opener for each school.
Acton had three runs batted in. Addison Frick had two hits.
Immke has scored seven runs in the first two SJ-O games.
SJ-O carried a 10-0 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning.
Acton, one of three pitchers used by the Spartans, struck out six batters in six innings and took the loss.
SJ-O (1-1) will return to action, weather permitting, on Friday (March 17) at LeRoy.
