Loran Tate produced top-four finishes in three individual events on Thursday (March 30), helping the Heritage Hawks to a runner-up team finish in a six-school girls’ track and field meet at Tuscola.
The meet champion was Tuscola with 203 points. Heritage was the runner-up with 56 points. Oakwood was third with 47 points.
Tate was second in the triple jump (31 feet, 6 inches), third in the 200 meters (30.08 seconds) and fourth in the long jump (14 feet, 1 inch).
Heritage had four other individuals and two relays also secure top-four finishes.
Lillian Montgomery was second in the 3,200 meters (14:52.00), Adena Paul was third in the shot put (28 feet, 5 inches), Savannah Gilliland was fourth in the 100 meters (personal-best 14.49 seconds) and Madi Wilson was fourth in the 400 meters (personal-best 1:15.76).
The Hawks’ 1,600-meter relay foursome of Wilson, Alex Tatman, Montgomery and Bailee Lubben placed second in 5:04.36.
In the 400 relay, Heritage ended in third place. Sharing the baton were Tate, Wilson, Gilliland and Tatman. Their combined time was 57.65 seconds.
Heritage returns to action on Thursday (April 6) at Fisher.
