Montgomery wins 400 at Hoopeston Area meet

Junior Lillian Montgomery was the winner in the 400-meter race on Monday (April 10) in a three-school girls’ track and field meet at Hoopeston Area.
Montgomery’s time was a personal-best 1 minute, 13.09 seconds.
The Hawks also had two winning relays.
The 400-meter foursome was timed in 58.14 seconds and consisted of Loran Tate, Madi Wilson, Alex Tatman and Savanah Gilliland.
The 1,600-meter unit featured Bailee Lubben, Tatman, Wilson and Gilliland. Their combined time was 5:18.17.
Tate produced runner-up finishes in three events, the 100 meters, the long jump and the triple jump.
Tatman was second in the 200 meters and fourth in the 100 meters. Lubben placed fourth in the shot put.
Two other Heritage 400-meter runners, besides Montgomery, were among the top four. Wilson ran third and Lubben finished fourth.
Hoopeston captured team honors with 50 points. Heritage was second with 28 points.
Heritage will return to action on Thursday (April 20) at Westville.
