Hawks overpower Blue Ridge

Julliyan Gray struck out 13 batters in six innings on Wednesday (April 26) and connected for three hits as Heritage overpowered Blue Ridge, 13-6, in a baseball game in Broadlands.
Gray (2-2) allowed three hits and just one earned run. He issued two walks. Robert Holloman pitched the final inning and registered three strikeouts.
Contributing to the Hawks’ top offensive output of the spring, besides Gray, were Rylan White (2-for-4), Holloman (2-for-3), Joey Markstahler (2-for-3) and Destin Nickle (2-for-3). White collected three RBI. Gray and Nickle each drove in two runs.
Gray, Markstahler, Nickle and White all scored two runs.
The Hawks stole 11 bases, including three apiece by Holloman and White. Haiden Davis and Zaien Smith each swiped two bases.
Heritage (2-14) returns to action on Monday (May 1) at Toledo Cumberland.
