Tate leads Hawks at Lincoln Prairie Conference girls’ track and field meet

Sophomore Loran Tate was the top Heritage placer on Friday (May 5) in the Lincoln Prairie Conference girls’ track and field meet at Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond.
Tate recorded a third-place finish in the triple jump at 29 feet, 10 inches. She also landed eighth in the long jump at 13 feet, 4 inches.
Two of her teammates also were top-10 performers individually, including Madi Wilson, who took 10th in the 200 meters in a personal-best 31.29 seconds.
Adena Paul ended sixth in the shot put at 27 feet, 10 inches.
Two of the Hawks’ relays also placed among the top 10.
The featured runners on the sixth-place 800-meter relay were Tate, Bailee Lubben, Wilson and Alex Tatman. Their cumulative time was 2:06.38.
The 400-meter grouping of Wilson, Paul, Lubben and Tatman crossed the finish line in eighth place in 57.23 seconds.
Heritage will return to action on Thursday (May 11) in the 20-school Paxton-Buckley-Loda Class 1A Sectional.
