Denmark-Collins and Ashbrook record personal bests at Westville Sectional

Two Heritage athletes, who placed in the top 15 individually, recorded their personal-bests on Friday (May 19) in the Westville Class 1A boys’ track and field sectional.
Eli Denmark-Collins placed sixth in the 3,200 meters (11:46.47) and Aidan Ashbrook finished 15th in the 400 meters (58.20 seconds).
Other individual leaders for the Hawks at the sectional were Hunter Montgomery (ninth in the 3,200 meters in 12:14.42), Rowan Denmark-Collins (10th in the 800 meters in 2:15.49), Eli Denmark-Collins (14th in the 1600 meters in 5:40.33) and Timmy Wilson (14th in the 100 meters in 12.46 seconds).
Three Heritage relays fared well, including the fourth-place 3,200-meter unit of Ashbrook, Cohen Sands, Rowan Denmark-Collins and Zach Ruwe. They were timed in 9:11.72.
The Hawks’ 1,600-meter grouping of Ashbrook, Ruwe, Wilson and Rowan Denmark-Collins ran sixth in 3:52.94.
The 400-meter foursome of Destin Nickle, Rylan White, Aaron Coffin and Robert Holloman wound up in 11th place in 54.77 seconds.
St. Joseph-Ogden earned the sectional crown with 129 points. Heritage tied for 12th in the 18-school field with six points.
