Brody Taflinger and Ethan Merritt notched second-half goals on Tuesday (Sept 5) as the Oakwood/Salt Fork soccer team won at Georgetown-Ridge Farm, 2-1.
Taflinger scored on a penalty kick to tie the match. Merritt registered the game-winner with an assist from Macen Phillips.
Jakob Rupp finished with one save.
The Comets held a 23-5 edge in total shots.
Oakwood/Salt Fork (4-2) returns to action on Thursday (Sept.7) at home against Rantoul.
