Hawks finish fifth at Cumberland Invitational

Paced by freshman Clark Roland, the Heritage boys’ cross-country team finished fifth on Saturday (Oct. 7) in the Cumberland Invitational in Toledo.
Roland completed the 3-mile course in 17 minutes, 16.41 seconds, and placed 13th.
The Hawks’ other competitors were Eli Denmark-Collins (21st in 17:45.45), Aidan Ashbrook (33rd in 18:20.16), Joshua Stierwalt (53rd in 19:33.78) and Hunter Montgomery (66th in 19:56.57).
There were 159 boys’ finishers in the invitational.
Notre Dame de La Salette won team honors with 72 points. Runner-up Tolono Unity had 93 points. eended fifth with 172 points.
In the girls’ race, the lone Heritage participant was Lillian Montgomery. She ended in 18th place in 23:03.28. There were 74 total runners.
Heritage will return to action on Thursday (Oct. 12) in a meet at home.
