SJO soccer season comes to end

St. Joseph-Ogden dropped a 6-3 decision on Tuesday (Oct. 17) to Oakwood/Salt Fork in a Class 1A regional championship soccer match played at St. Anne.
Logan Mills scored twice for the Spartans. Zach Harper hit one goal. Spencer Wilson and Will Besson each had one assist.
For the season, five SJ-O players scored at least 10 goals, led by Mills with 34.
Other team leaders were Alex Acosta (28 goals), Harper (25 goals), Wilson (12 goals) and Tyler Hess (10 goals).
The Spartans recorded 14 hat tricks for the season. Mills had six. Acosta and Harper each had four.
Harper also tied the school record for goals in a match with five against Warrensburg-Latham.
Wilson recorded a team-best 23 assists. Other team leaders were Harper (15 assists), Mills (13 assists), Acosta (eight assists) and Hess (four assists).
Jacek Slowikowski totaled 80 goalkeeper saves. Jaxon Colvin totaled 35 saves.
SJ-O (16-8 overall) outscored its opponents collectively this year, 120-42.
