Oakwood’s girls’ basketball team hit 11 of 16 fourth-quarter free throws on Thursday (Dec. 7) and went on to defeat Armstrong-Potomac, 44-31, at Fithian.
Jaydah Arrowsmith scored a game-high 19 points and converted 10 of 16 free throws in the game. Nikita Taylor contributed 14 points.
Also reaching the scoring column for the Comets – who have won four of their last six games – were Mady Nicoson (six points), Taylor Smoot (three points) and Gracie Hanner (two points).
The Comets carried an 8-3 lead into the second quarter and built their lead to 22-13 at halftime.
Oakwood (4-5) returns to action on Monday (Dec. 11) at Watseka.
