State-ranked SJ-O boys’ basketball team defeats Danville

Tanner Jacob scored 15 points and Logan Smith added 14 points on Tuesday (Dec. 12) as the unbeaten and state-ranked St. Joseph-Ogden boys’ basketball team posted a 66-55 win at Danville.
The Spartans have won each of their first seven games and are ranked No. 10 in the state’s first Associated Press Class 2A poll.
Other point-makers for SJ-O in the non-conference win were Tanner Siems (10 points), Collin Thomey (eight points), Luke Landrus (seven points), Parker Fitch (five points), Logan Lackey (five points) and Coy Taylor (two points).
Smith grabbed a season-high eight rebounds and Siems pulled down five rebounds.
The Spartans return to action on Friday (Dec. 15) at home against Normal University High.
