Heritage overpowers Georgetown

Cameron Johnson poured in a season-high 38 points on Monday (Dec. 18) as Heritage overpowered Georgetown Mary Miller, 75-15, in an eighth-grade boys’ basketball game in Homer.
It was his second 30-point outburst of the season and the sixth time for reaching at least 20 points in a game. Johnson has a team-leading 21.2 scoring average through 13 games.
DaKarai Hill checked in with a season-high 14 points. Landin McComas and Colby Schrock both tallied seven points. Cooper Hancock scored six points.
On Tuesday (Dec. 12), the eighth-graders took a 45-32 loss to Salt Fork.
Johnson’s 14 points were a team-best. McComas chipped in with eight points.
The Heritage eighth-graders have an 8-5 overall record.

For the second time in five December games, the Heritage seventh-graders were triumphant on Monday (Dec. 18), winning at home over Georgetown Mary Miller, 38-21.
The team point total was a season’s high for Heritage.
Joao Vega reached his season’s high with 18 points. Bryson Warren totaled nine points and Kylan Waler finished with seven points.
On Tuesday (Dec. 12), the seventh-grade boys’ basketball team had its second-best offensive output of the season, but dropped a 51-24 decision at home against Salt Fork.
Warren scored a season-high 14 points and Vega added eight points for Heritage.
Heritage (2-11) will return to action on Monday (Jan. 8) at Champaign Next Generation.
