Spartans defeat Prairie Central
By FRED KRONER
Just three players reached the scoring column for the St. Joseph-Ogden girls’ basketball team on Monday (Jan. 8), but that was more than enough as the Spartans tripped visiting Prairie Central, 52-22.
SJ-O was led by Addy Martinie, who made a career-high 27 points, including seven shots from three-point range. Addison Frick matched her season’s high with 18 points. Also scoring for the Spartans was Katie Ericksen with seven points.
The Spartans carried a 22-7 lead into the second quarter and led, 35-15, at halftime. SJ-O held PC scoreless in the final stanza.
SJ-O (9-8) has won three consecutive games and has an above-.500 record for the first time this season. The Spartans return to action on Thursday (Jan. 11) at Chillicothe IVC.
