OSF Wrestling falls to Roxana in Sectional dual meet

Wrestlers from Oakwood/Salt Fork and Roxana each won seven matches on Tuesday (Feb. 20) in the IHSA Class 1A team-sectional dual meet match at Benton, but the difference turned out to be in bonus points.
Roxana posted four pins, compared to two by the Comets, and ousted Oakwood/Salt Fork, 36-33.
Registering pins for Oakwood/Salt Fork were Brayden Edwards (in 2:56 at 113 pounds) and Grant Brewer (in 2:36 at 150 pounds). Teammate Dalton Brown earned a 16-1 technical fall victory at 175 pounds.
Steven Uden recorded a major decision at 106 pounds (winning 12-1). Teammates winning by regular decision were Tyler Huchel (4-0 win at 120 pounds), Jack Ajster (6-0 at 138 pounds) and Carter Chambliss (6-2 at 144 pounds).
The Comets finish the year with a 28-3 record in dual meets and one victory shy of advancing to the state tournament.
Pedro Rangel (132 pounds) led the team in wins (45-8). Teammates in the 40-win club were Capansky (43-8), Brewer (42-6) and Brown (42-5).
Other squad members with at least 30 wins were Ajster (38-12), Edwards (35-15), Carter Chambliss (34-17), Uden (32-18) and Thomas Wells (32-19).
Comets with at least 20 wins were Huchel (29-8), Jamison Chambliss (24-8) and Kade Fleming (24-17).
