Monticello Rallies with Seventh-Inning Surge to Topple Oakwood 6-2 in Baseball Clash

Monticello scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning on Thursday (March 21) to deal Oakwood a 6-2 loss in a non-conference baseball game in Fithian.
Carsen Dudley led the Comets offensively, finishing 3-for-4. He scored a run as did Chase Harrison. Derek Drews had an RBI for Oakwood.
Other Comets with hits besides Dudley were Drews, Jackson Dudley, Bryson Marcinko, Brody Taflinger and Cort Vermillion.
Dustin Hughes pitched the first six innings, allowing one earned run, walking no one and striking out five batters.
Alex Wallace worked the seventh inning and took the loss. He struck out one in his one inning of work.
Oakwood (3-3) returns to action on Tuesday (March 26) at Paxton-Buckley-Loda.
