Despite Strong Offensive Effort, Heritage Softball Falls to Oakwood 21-11

Faith Latham drilled four hits and Brooklynn Powell contributed four runs batted in on Wednesday (April 17), but the Heritage softball team dropped a 21-11 decision at Oakwood.
Kaydynn Curry-Varner, Destanee Morgan and Breana Patten all ended with two hits.
Latham and Patten knocked in first-inning runs as Heritage jumped into a 2-0 lead. Powell had two RBI and Morgan, Isabella Reed and Courtney Sanford all drove in one run in a five-run fifth inning, helping Heritage achieve a season’s high for runs scored.
The Hawks (0-7) return to action on Thursday (April 18) at Villa Grove.
