Heritage’s Loran Tate won an event and helped two relays to first-place finishes on Monday (April 15) in a four-school girls’ track and field meet at Georgetown-Ridge Farm.
Tate was the champion in the triple jump (33 feet, 5 inches).
She helped the Hawks to victory in the two sprint relay races.
In the 400-meter event, she teamed up with Alex Tatman, Madi Wilson and Bri Ploense for a time of 54.0 and a narrow victory over the runner-up (timed in 54.1).
The same four girls combined for a 2:02.0 time while winning the 800-meter relay.
Tate also had a runner-up finish in the 200 meters (28.4 seconds).
The Hawks had four other individuals secure top-10 performances.
Ploense tied for second in the 100 meters (personal-best 13.5 seconds) and added a fifth-place finish in the long jump (13 feet).
Tatman took fifth in the 100 meters (14.2 seconds) and Wilson ran seventh in the 200 meters (30.3 seconds).
Blue Ridge won the meet with 175 points. Runner-up Oakwood totaled 121 points. Heritage was fourth with 48 ½ points.
