St. Joseph-Ogden Volleyball Rallies Past Marshall for Five-Set Victory, Falls to Unity in Non-Conference Play

For the second time this season, the St. Joseph-Ogden volleyball team rallied from a one-set deficit to collect a non-conference victory.

On Monday (Sept. 23), the Spartans rallied against visiting Marshall and posted a 24-26, 25-13, 25-20 victory.

Emma McKinney recorded a sparkling performance, handing out 23 assists to go with eight service aces, seven digs and four kills.

Ava Seggebruch recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 12 digs. Ally Schmitz contributed 16 digs, four kills and three service aces.

Emerson Williams served four aces. As a team, 17 of the SJ-O points were tallied on service aces.

Katie Ericksen totaled nine digs and Reese Wheatley had three blocks.

On Tuesday (Sept. 24), Tinley Ideus notched six kills for the Spartans in a 25-23, 25-18 loss at Tolono Unity. Ideus also had five digs.

Seggebruch and Hadley McDonald both landed two kills. Seggebruch notched a team-high 10 digs.

McKinney finished with 11 assists and six digs. Ericksen ended with five digs and Kayla Osterbur recorded two blocks.

SJ-O (9-9) has won seven of its last nine matches and returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 26) at home against Pontiac.
