St. Joseph-Ogden teammates Ainsley Rhoton and Olivia Getty scored wins on Tuesday (Oct. 1) in a girls’ tennis dual meet at Atkins Tennis Center against Watseka.
Playing at No. 4 singles, Rhoton was triumphant, 7-6 (5), 6-3. Getty recorded her win at No. 5 singles, in a three-set thriller, 7-6 (4), 1-6, 10-4.
On Monday (Sept. 30), the Spartans dropped an 8-1 decision at Urbana.
The SJ-O victory came at No. 1 singles by Samantha Kelso, who rallied for a 3-6, 6-5, 10-5 win over Grace Coady.
The Spartans (4-6) return to action on Thursday (Oct. 3) at the Lindsay Tennis Courts against Centennial.
