St. Joseph-Ogden Volleyball Splits Four Matches, Rallies for Victory Over Rantoul

St. Joseph-Ogden’s volleyball team had matches on four consecutive nights last week.

The Spartans rallied to win at Rantoul, 25-27, 25-22, 25-16, on Thursday (Oct. 3). A day earlier, SJ-O dropped a 25-8, 25-14 decision at Cissna Park. On Tuesday (Oct. 1), the team swept Tuscola, 25-12, 25-11.

The week started with a 25-19, 25-12 loss at home to IVC on Monday (Sept.30).

Against Rantoul, Tinley Ideus pounded 15 kills and Ava Seggebruch smashed seven kills for SJ-O. Olivia Learned had 14 assists and Emma McKinney ended with eight assists.

Reese Wheatley totaled three blocks and Seggebruch served four aces. Katie Erickson contributed 11 digs and Thea Smith had 10 digs.

Against Cissna Park, McKinney had three assists and Learned had two assists. Seggebruch had two kills and Ideus finished with five digs.

Against Tuscola, McKinney handed out 12 assists and Addi Brooks ended with nine assists.

Seggebruch swatted eight kills and Kenzie Atwood tossed in four kills. Ideus had 11 digs, Erickson had 10 digs and Ally Schmitz had eight digs.

SJ-O (11-12) returns to action on Tuesday (Oct. 8) at Monticello.
