Snow Route Reminder
With a winter storm warning, with forecasted snow between 3 to 8 inches from Saturday, January 19 at midnight to Sunday, January 20 , St. Joseph, Ogden, Homer and Oakwood designated snow routes will be in effect.
Local governments require residents to remove their vehicles from the road to make way for snowplows after a 2-inch snowfall.
St. Joseph’s Ordinance 9-1-18 reads:
Notice Of Two Inch Snowfall: The village president, or other official designated by the village president, is hereby authorized and directed to declare when two inches (2″) of snow has accumulated, and to cause notice to be given as follows: 1) to hang notices on the main door of all buildings located on both sides of the streets of snow routes and 2) to place notices on the windshields of all cars that are parked on said snow routes at the time of said initial declaration, which shall be notice that the village intends to remove snow on such snow routes and to tow vehicles which are parked thereon at any time more than four (4) hours after the time of the initial notices provided above and which no parking restriction shall remain in effect until such time as snow removal is completed and no further immediate accumulation of snow is expected.
