St. Joseph-Ogden Senior Spotlight: Eric Poe, Mimi Allen, Dyllan Price and Nolan Peacock
Eric Poe
Track and Field (4 years), Cross Country (2 years), Football (2 years), Spanish Club, Spanish Club Leader, NHS, We The People, Advisory Mentoring Program
Eric lives in St. Joseph with his mom and dad. He has one older brother. His hobbies are hanging out with friends and family, running, and anything related to his extracurricular schedule. His greatest memories at SJO include all of his track and field and cross country athletic events throughout the years and when he qualified for IHSA State in cross country this past fall. After high school, Eric plans to go into the Naval Academy to become a Naval officer. He leaves on June 25th. His advice for future SJO students is to work hard because high school is really not that bad. His favorite classes at SJO have been all of his history classes in general, and specifically Economics, Civics, and U.S. History with Mr. Schacht. Throughout the years, Eric’s favorite teachers have been Mr. Risley at St. Joseph Middle School and Senor Sutton and Mr. Schacht at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Eric on all of his accomplishments and best of luck to him in the future.
Mimi Allen
Track and Field (3 years), Girls’ Basketball (2 years)
Mimi lives in St. Joseph with her family. She has four siblings: an older brother and sister and a younger brother and sister. Her hobbies are to simply be outside, to play basketball, and to run and walk. Her greatest memories at SJO were being a part of the girls’ track and field team and the girls’ basketball team. After high school, Mimi plans to attend Cincinnati State to major in nursing. Her advice for future SJO students is to follow directions, to try your best, to keep up with all of the work, and to have fun at school. Her favorite classes at SJO include both of her math classes with Mr. Duval and Ms. Steffen and her art class with Mr. Beccue. Her favorite teachers throughout the years are Mr. Beccue, Mrs. Brooks, Mrs. Kietzman, and Ms. Steffen at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Mimi on all of her accomplishments and best of luck to her in the future.
Dyllan Price
Football (2 years), Baseball (1 year), Maroon Platoon
Dyllan lives in St. Joseph with his family. He has one older sister. His main hobby is to hang out with friends and family. His greatest memories at SJO include a couple of his PE classes. Dyllan has had a lot of fun in multiple PE classes over the years at SJO. He will also remember the day before spring break in Senor Sutton’s class. The environment of the class was fantastic and according to Dyllan, he had a lot of fun. After high school Dyllan plans on joining the U.S. Air Force. His training will likely start in July for this, and he has an interest in engineering, which he wants to learn more about in the U.S. Air Force. His advice for future SJO students is to try to work hard every day. His favorite classes at SJO were Senora Nelson’s Spanish classes and Ms. Steffen’s match classes. At SJO, his favorite teachers include Mr. Billman, Senor Sutton, and Mr. Duval. Congrats to Dyllan on all of his accomplishments and best of luck to him in the future.
Nolan Peacock
Track and Field (3 years), Drama Club (2 years), Spanish Club, We The People
Nolan lives in St. Joseph with his family. He has two older brothers and two older sisters. His hobbies include spending time with friends and family, playing guitar, and working. Nolan has a lot of great memories at SJO. He is going to miss the home football games, post prom, and all of the fan bus trips to IHSA State over the years. He really enjoys when the whole school is involved. After high school, Nolan plans to attend the University of Illinois to study media and cinema studies. His advice for future SJO students is to cherish every moment of high school because it goes by so fast. His favorite classes at SJO were all of Senor Sutton’s Spanish classes, U.S. History with Mr. Schacht, and Horticulture with Mrs. Nekolny. His favorite teachers at SJO include Senora Nelson, Senor Sutton, Mr. Schacht, and Mr. Simondsen. Nolan wants to thank the faculty and everyone at SJO for making high school such a great, positive experience for him.
