Prairieview-Ogden Baseball begins season with two wins

Prairieview Ogden opened the junior high baseball season with back-to-back wins.
PVO topped Salt Fork 4-2 on Saturday at Royal.
Parker Fitch’s run-scoring single in the first inning got the Mustangs on the board.
PVO snapped a 1-1 tie in the fourth on a run-scoring hit by James Huisinga.
Coy Taylor pitched four innings and earned the win. He struck out eight and walked no one. Logan Lackey pitched the final three innings.
On Monday, PVO improved to 2-0 with a 19-1 win over Heritage at Homer. PVO tallied seven of its runs in the top of the first inning.
Fitch sparked the 17-hit attack. He generated four hits, stole four bases and drove in five runs.
Teammates finishing with two hits apiece were Kodey McKinney, Graham Ray, Coy Hayes, Lackey and Huisinga. McKinney had two RBI.
Hayes pitched all three innings and picked up the win. He fanned five batters, walked one and did not allow an earned run.
PVO returns to action on Thursday at Potomac.
