Sophomore Allie Morris finished three seconds behind the individual winner on Tuesday (Sept. 8) in a three-school meet at St. Joseph.
Morris was timed in 9 minutes and 50 seconds for a 1.5-mile course and placed third. The individual meet champion was timed in 9:47.
Other leaders for the Comets were Yelka Layden (22nd in 12:12), Kalie Tilson (23rd in 12:54), Aaliyah Denius (26th in 13:22) and Addie Wright (27th in 13:26).
SJ-O captured team honors with 18 points. Runner-up Tuscola had a score of 57 and was followed by Oakwood (61).
Oakwood returns to action on Saturday at the Paxton-Buckley-Loda Invitational.
