Panthers claim Class 2A IESA Regional Title

The Panthers advanced to the Class 2A IESA regional title game by virtue of an 11-2 triumph over Fisher in the semifinals on Wednesday (Sept. 23).
St. Joseph scored all of the runs it would need with a six-run first inning.
Logan Rosenthal and Bryson Houchens each delivered three hits for the Panthers. Rosenthal and Jared Altenbaumer both finished with two runs batted in.
Altenbaumer collected two hits. Will Haley knocked in three runs.
The pitching duties were shared by Altenbaumer (three innings, five strikeouts), Houchens (three innings, three strikeouts) and Kendrick Johnson (one inning, three strikeouts.
The pitchers stymied Fisher on four hits.
On Saturday (Sept. 26), St. Joseph beat Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley in the championship game, 10-0.
Johnson pitched a complete game (five Innings), allowing three hits while striking out five.
Houchens went 3-for-3 and Rosenthal contributed two hits.
Altenbaumer and Haley each drove in two runs.
The Panthers put up seven of their runs in the first three innings.
