The Comets had three top-10 individual placers in the Saturday (Oct. 3) Oakwood Invitational at Kickapoo State Park.
Macie Russell was the program’s top runner, finishing in third place with a 3-mile time of 20 minutes, 38.06 seconds.
Other team leaders were Allie Morris (ninth in 22:13.32) and Mackenzie Russell (10th in 22:19.49).
There were 30 runners in the girls’ event.
The Comets’ other participants were: Gracie Jessup (18th in 24:51.56), Shelby McGee (21st in 25:21.48), Kalie Tison (22nd in 26:16.60) and Yelka Leydan (29th in 28:32.37).
Oakwood returns to action on Tuesday (Oct. 13) at Kickapoo in the Vermilion Valley meet.
