The Oakwood Knights were limited to two hits on Friday (Sept. 10) in a 13-0 baseball loss at home.

Carsen Dudley had a single and Cam Harris a double for Oakwood.

On Monday (Sept. 13), the Knights dropped a 9-1 decision at home to Schlarman Academy in their regular-season finale.

Oakwood was limited to four hits. Avery Haughn reached base twice by drawing walks.

Harris drove two hits. Dudley and Haughn each ended with one hit. Dudley had the lone Oakwood  RBI.

The Knights were limited to four hits in a Thursday (Sept. 9) 19-0 loss at home to Hoopeston Area.

The Knights had singles from Gauge Carillo, Dudley, Harris and Haughn.

Sixth-seeded Oakwood (3-9) returns to action on Wednesday (Sept. 15) in an IESA regional quarterfinal game at third-seeded Salt Fork.

Sharing the pitching duties for the Knights were Cam Harris (2 2/3 innings) and Collin Furry (1 1/3 innings). Each pitcher recorded three strikeouts.

Carsen Dudley, Walker Enos and Grady Johnson had hits for Oakwood.

On Tuesday, Oakwood suffered a 4-1 loss at home to Salt Fork.

Alex Wallace accounted for two of the Knights’ four hits. Avery Haughn had the team’s lone RBI.

Dudley pitched five innings and recorded four strikeouts.

Oakwood (3-6) returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 9) at home against Hoopeston Area.

The Oakwood Junior High Knights snapped a three-game baseball losing streak in dramatic fashion on Monday (Aug. 23) at home.

The Knights trailed Homer Heritage 8-3 entering the bottom of the sixth inning, but tallied six runs to secure the win.

The walk-off victory occurred on a two-out single by Walker Enos, who had two hits in the game.

Avery Haughn led Oakwood with three hits and three runs batted in. Enos, Carsen Dudley and Cam Harris all registered two hits. Harris and Dudley both drove in two runs.

The winning pitcher was Grady Johnson, who threw four innings of relief. He yielded four hits and struck out two batters.

On Tuesday (Aug. 24), the Knights went on the road and took advantage of 10 hits and 10 walks to dispatch Potomac-Armstrong 11-2.

Dudley picked up the win, scattering two hits in three innings. He walked no one and struck out four batters.

Gauge Carillo and Collin Furry each worked two innings and registered two strikeouts apiece.

Four Knights collected two hits: Dudley, Enos, Trevor McCall and Alex Wallace. Wallace scored three runs and Enos had two RBI.

On Thursday (Aug. 19), Dudley had a hit and drove in a run for the Knights, who lost a four-inning game at Bismarck-Henning, 14-2.

Carillo pitched two innings for the Knights and registered three strikeouts.

Oakwood (3-3) returns to action on Thursday (Aug. 26) at home against Schlarman Academy.

The Oakwood Junior High Knights opened their fall baseball season on Saturday (Aug. 14) at home with a five-inning 11-1 decision over Rossville.

Avery Haughn had three hits and knocked in four runs for the Knights. Carsen Dudley and Cam Harris each delivered two hits.  Dudley reached base two other times via walks.

Collin Furry and Harris teamed up on a two-hitter. Harris struck out five batters in 2 1/3 innings and picked up the win.

The Knights dropped back-to-back decisions earlier this week, losing at Westville 17-2 on Monday (Aug. 16) and at home against Georgetown Mary Miller 12-2 on Tuesday (Aug. 17).

Dudley and Haughn each had two hits at Westville in a game where the home team held an 11-9 edge in hits.

Grady Johnson pitched three innings and registered three strikeouts.

Against Georgetown, Oakwood was limited to three hits, but still held a 2-1 lead after two innings.

Furry pitched 1 2/3 innings and collected three strikeouts.

Oakwood is 1-2 and returns to action on Thursday (Aug. 19) at Bismarck-Henning.
