St. Joseph-Ogden battled back from a one-set deficit on Tuesday (Oct. 19) to beat Paxton-Buckley-Loda and reach the 20-win mark for the season.

With Becca Steinbach registering a double-double (29 assists and 10 digs), SJ-O bounced PBL 23-25, 25-21, 25-17. Steinbach also had one kill.

Kennedi Burnett contributed 13 digs, eight kills, five service aces, two blocks and an assist.

Shayne Immke turned in an 11-dig, eight-kill, two-block and one-ace performance.

Hannah Fox recorded 13 digs, two assists and an ace in the team’s final regular-season home match.

 SJ-O (20-4) returns to action on Thursday (Oct. 21) at Bloomington Central Catholic.

The Spartans have enjoyed 20-win seasons in volleyball in 13 of the past 14 years. The lone exception was the COVID-shortened season of 2020-21, when SJ-O was 17-3.

Kennedi Burnett’s double-double sparked the St. Joseph-Ogden volleyball team to a 25-8, 25-15 win at Stanford Olympia on Thursday (Oct. 14).

Burnett recorded 10 kills and 10 digs. She also had two service aces.

Hannah Fox also had 10 digs. Becca Steinbach doled out 19 assists.

Shayne Immke registered seven digs, four kills and an ace. Rachel Divan finished with three kills and three blocks.

On Saturday (Oct. 16), the Spartans journeyed to Chillicothe and swept IVC, 25-20, 28-26.

Burnett collected another double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs.

Addie Roesch had eight kills and six digs. Ashley Eldridge had six kills and three blocks. Immke contributed four kills and seven digs. Divan chipped in with three blocks.

Steinbach finished with 26 assists and six digs. Burnett also had one service ace.

SJ-O (19-4) returns to action on Monday (Oct. 18) at home against Warrensburg-Latham.

The Spartans started the week with volleyball victories at home on back-to-back nights.

St. Joseph-Ogden overpowered Prairie Central on Tuesday (Oct. 12), 25-15, 25-4, and took care of Fisher on Wednesday (Oct. 13), 25-13, 25-9.

Against PC, Shayne Immke stroked seven kills and Kennedi Burnett laced four kills. Burnett had a team-high 16 digs along with two service aces.

Becca Steinbach amassed 23 assists and six digs. Immke added two digs and an ace.

Against Fisher, Hannah Fox totaled 11 digs and Burnett contributed 10 digs in the two-set sweep.

Burnett also chipped in with six kills and an ace. Steinbach ended with 22 assists and five digs.

SJ-O (17-4) puts a four-match winning streak on the line on Thursday (Oct. 14) at Stanford Olympia.

St. Joseph-Ogden followed up on a loss Monday (Oct. 4) at Tri-Valley by sweeping Monticello at home on Tuesday (Oct. 5).

Junior Shayne Immke had a team-high 11 digs in a 25-7, 26-24 victory over Monticello. She also had three kills and three service aces.

Addie Roesch landed seven kills, to go with two service aces and one dig. Kennedi Burnett finished with five aces, four kills and four digs.

Becca Steinbach handed out 15 assists and added three digs. Hannah Fox collected nine digs and chipped in with one assist.

In the 25-14, 25-15 loss at Tri-Valley, Steinbach had 11 assists.

Hanna Fox led with eight digs. Just behind her, with seven digs apiece, were Burnett and Becca Steinbach.

Steinbach registered 24 assists and served two aces. Immke finished with two digs.

On Tuesday (Sept. 21), the Spartans dropped a two-set match at home to Tolono Unity 25-13, 25-21.

Steinbach totaled 13 assists and six digs. Burnett wound up with seven digs and six kills. Fox posted eight digs.

Senior Kenndi Burnett registered the first triple-double by a St. Joseph-Ogden volleyball player this season on Monday (Aug. 30), helping the Spartans to a three-set win at Decatur St. Teresa.

Burnett pounded 15 kills to go with 10 digs and 10 service aces as SJ-O topped the Bulldogs 25-16, 20-25, 25-20.

Becca Steinbach collected a double-double with 30 assists and 12 digs.

Hannah Fox totaled 13 digs.

Addie Roesch added eight kills and Shayne Immke had seven kills. Roesch had 11 digs and two aces while Immke contributed two digs.

On Tuesday (Aug. 31), Burnett produced 10 service aces, eight digs and seven kills as the unbeaten Spartans opened the home portion of its schedule with a two-set sweep over Cissna Park, 25-8, 25-16.

Steinbach contributed 12 assists and six digs.
