Heritage Schools to figure out what’s next

From Heritage School District Facebook post at 10:45 a.m. March 15:

K-8 Principal Mrs. Sanders, HS Principal Mr. White, Superintendent Mr. Davis are scheduled to meet this afternoon to assess guidance coming in from Illinois State Board of Education for the coming shut down.

A Food Plan for Free/Reduced students during the break is being put in place and details will be updated when finalized.

Parents are reminded that school attendance requirements will be waived during this emergency period including school tomorrow and if/when school resumes. This is a fluid situation so NO REPRISALS. The same goes for school work during the break, ISBE guidance says grade impact consequences CAN NOT HAPPEN. Teachers will work tomorrow to put learning opportunities in students hands for the break both online and in hand where possible, but we know not everyone has reliable Internet access nor a great deal of time as working parents to conduct a 5 hour school day with your kid(s). The focus is on keeping learning in mind and hope for a return to our school year soon and everyone healthy doing that!

A school phone message will go out with any new developments as needed.

Heritage School Board and admins are scheduled to meet Monday night to discuss the shut down and all aspects moving forward.
