The Comets placed 12th in the 18-school Chrisman Cowchip Classic on Saturday (Sept. 5.)
Senior Eli Ronk set the pace for Oakwood/SF, finishing the 3-mile course in 18 minutes, 44.8 seconds He placed 37th overall.
Teammates pursuing him were: Alex Harrison (45th in 19:06.4); Dalton Hobick (83rd in 20:32.3); Coleton Vermillion (88th in 21:00.7); Jacob Taflinger (94th in 21:18.2); Grant Brewer (100th in 21:34.0) and Ethan Brewer (117th in 22:43.6).
Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond was the team champion with 46 points. Tuscola was the runner-up with 108 and Monticello had a total of 120 and was third. Oakwood/Salt Fork’s composite score was 322.
The Comets return to action on Tuesday (Sept. 8) at St. Joseph in a meet that not only includes the host Spartans, but also Armstrong-Potomac.
