Holloman Shines Despite Heritage’s Struggles in Back-to-Back Losses

By Fred Kroner

Robert Holloman’s double was the only hit by Heritage on Tuesday (May 7) in a 15-0 baseball loss at home to Salt Fork.

Teammate Zaien Smith also reached base after getting hit by a pitch.

Brennan Struck and Lukas Miller each pitched two innings. Struck fanned three batters and Miller registered two strikeouts and didn’t permit a hit.

On Wednesday (May 8), the Hawks dropped a 7-3 decision at Cerro Gordo/Bement.

Holloman cracked a two-out, three-run homer in the fifth inning, knocking out the Broncos’ starting pitcher. His homer also drove in Alex Bensyl and Smith.

In his last three games, Holloman is 4-for-8 at the plate.

Rylan White suffered the loss despite recording a season-high 11 strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. Reliever Haiden Davis struck out the lone batter he faced.

Heritage (2-19) returns to action on Thursday (May 9) at Casey-Westfield.
