The Comets plan to host the Class of 2021 and their guests in an outdoor graduation ceremony on the Oakwood High School football field on May 22.
A rain date of May 23 has also been established.
Adjustments may need to be made as the Vermilion County Public Health Department offers guidance, but administrators would prefer the outdoor event to a recording, like last year.
An announcement in the monthly Comet Courier reads: “The administration’s goal is to allow as many people as safely possible to be able to see the graduation of the Class of 2021. By using the football field, we will be outside and we will have more room to spread out. We also hope to use the new cameras installed on the football field to live stream the event.”
