Villa Grove’s top finish in the Salt Fork girls’ Class 1A track and field sectional on Friday (May 13) was a fourth-place performance by the 3,200-meter relay.
The foursome of Scarlet Howard, Madison Logan, Kyleigh Price and Emma Buesing was timed in 12 minutes, 2.63 seconds.
The Blue Devils did not have any state-qualifiers.
VG had an eighth-place finish in the 400-meter relay. The runners were Howard, Molly Little, Kayci Leith and Kenzie Cardiff.
Individually, Howard and Buesing landed seventh-place finishes. Howard ran the 800 meters and finished in 2:48.25. Buesing’s 1,600-meter time was 6:14.62.
Villa Grove placed 15th in the team standings with four points.
