Brazelton and Holt named to Illini Prairie Conference All-League First Team

Two St. Joseph-Ogden wrestlers were headliners on the Illini Prairie Conference all-league first team by earning unanimous selections in voting by the IPC coaches.

In all, eight wrestlers were chosen unanimously. The honored Spartans were sophomore Holden Brazelton, at 132 pounds, and junior Emmitt Holt, at 113 pounds.

One other Spartan was named to the 19-person first team: senior Owen Birt, at 220 pounds.

Brazelton won 49 of 52 matches for the season and placed third in the IHSA individual state tournament at his weight class. Birt (37) and Holt (30) were the Spartans’ other 30-match winners for the season for a squad that ended 18-16 in dual meets.
