Seniors take court for SJ-O tennis

All five St. Joseph-Ogden seniors took the court on Tuesday (Sept. 26) in the Spartans’ Senior Night girls’ tennis match against Watseka at the Atkins Tennis Center.

SJ-O and Watseka split the six singles matches, but the Warriors won all three doubles’ matches to hand the Spartans a 6-3 defeat.

The SJ-O singles winners were: Lily Rice (6-4, 6-4 at No. 3), Caroline Aden (4-6, 6-3,10-3 at No. 4) and Olivia Getty (6-2, 6-2 at No. 6).

Olivia Getty (5-2 record) is the team-leader in wins.

The Spartans’ seniors are Maya Chahine, Grace Getty, Lauren Lannert, Addison Seggebruch and Emma Thurman. Seggebruch played at No. 1 singles. Thurman and Lannert formed a doubles’ team as did Chahine and Grace Getty.

SJ-O (2-6) returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 28) at Atkins against Decatur St. Teresa.
