Luke Landrus Dominates as St. Joseph-Ogden Baseball Starts Strong with Win Over Breese Central

Luke Landrus pitched four scoreless innings in his first varsity outing of the baseball season on Thursday (March 14) as St. Joseph-Ogden overpowered Breese Central, 10-1, at O’Fallon.

In four innings, Landrus allowed two hits, one walk and struck out four batters.

Parker Fitch threw the final three innings and permitted three hits. He walked two batters and fanned three.

Kodey McKinney, Logan Rosenthal and Braxton Waller all swatted two hits for the Spartans. McKinney and Jared Altenbaumer both delivered three RBI. Waller knocked in two runs.

Bryson Houchens and Rosenthal drove in one run apiece. Altenbaumer, Nolan Earley, Houchens, Tanner Jacob and Landrus all contributed one hit. Landrus swiped two bases and scored two runs. Rosenthal also crossed home plate twice.

Scoring once apiece were Altenbaumer, Earley, Will Haley, Houchens, McKinney and Waller.

On Friday (March 15), SJ-O suffered its first loss, a 7-5 decision against Oswego in Sauget.

Altenbaumer and Waller both knocked three hits. Landrus drove two hits and Jacob tallied one hit.

Waller collected two RBI. Altenbaumer and Jacob each drove in one run.

Scoring the SJ-O runs were Altenbaumer, Haley, Jacob, Landrus and Rosenthal.

Asher Pruemer pitched four innings. None of the four runs he yielded were earned, but he suffered the loss.
SJ-O (2-1) returns to action on Tuesday (March 19) in its home-opener at Meier Field against Tuscola. The first pitch will be at 4:30 p.m.
