Earley’s Three-Hit Shutout Powers St. Joseph-Ogden to 10-0 Victory Over Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin

Junior Nolan Earley pitched a three-hit shutout on Wednesday (March 20) as the St. Joseph-Ogden baseball team blanked Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, 10-0, at Meier Field.

Earley struck out seven and walked two in his five-inning stint.

Jared Altenbaumer drilled four hits and drove in three runs for SJ-O.

Earley swatted three hits and drove in two runs.

Teammates with two hits were Luke Landrus and Kodey McKinney. Bryson Houchens had one hit and one RBI.

Landrus slammed a home run and knocked in three runs.

Landrus scored three runs. Earley, Tanner Jacob and Braxton Waller tallied two runs apiece. Crossing home plate once was McKinney.

On Tuesday (March 19), the Spartans handed visiting Tuscola an 18-2 loss.

Starting pitcher Trevor Ames pitched three scoreless innings, walking one and striking out three.

Earley finished with two of SJ-O’s six hits. Altenbaumer, Landrus, McKinney and Waller recorded one hit apiece.

Earley netted four RBI, Jacob had three RBI and Altenbaumer, Will Haley, Landrus and McKinney all finished with two RBI. Houchens drove in one run.

Logan Rosenthal scored three runs for the Spartans. Ending with two runs scored each were Altenbaumer, Earley, Haley, Landrus, McKinney and Waller.

Garrett Denhart, Houchens and Jacob all scored once.

SJ-O (4-1) returns to action on Thursday (March 21) at home against St. Thomas More.
