The Oakwood girls’ basketball team dropped a 37-30 decision at Arcola on Monday (Nov. 15).
Ashlynn Pinnick led the Comets with 10 points. Addie Wright made 4-of-4 free throws en route to an eight-point game. Nikita Taylor scored six points.
Oakwood (0-1) returns to action on Thursday (Nov. 18) in its home-opener against St. Thomas More.
The school’s eight-team Comet Classic starts on Saturday (Nov. 20). Oakwood will face Martinsville in the fourth of five games, scheduled to start at about 4 p.m. The Comet Classic will conclude on Friday (Nov 26).
