St. Joseph-Ogden Baseball Seals Victory with Late Rally: Earley and Waller Lead Spartans to Double Win

St. Joseph-Ogden’s baseball team notched a run in the bottom of the seventh inning on Saturday (April 6) at Meier Field and knocked off Tremont, 3-2.

In the Spartans’ second game in the Saturday round-robin event, SJ-O topped Williamsville, 5-1.

Nolan Earley and Braxton Waller were the lone Spartans with hits in both games.

In the opener, Earley pitched six innings and yielded three hits while walking one batter. He fanned four.

Reliever Jared Altenbaumer picked up the win. He walked one and fanned two in his one inning stint on the mound.

Luke Landrus led the offensive attack, finishing 4-for-4. Landrus drove in one run and Waller knocked in the team’s other two runs.

Will Haley, Tanner Jacob and Kodey McKinney all tallied runs.

Landrus pitched four innings in the second game, permitting two hits and three walks. He recorded seven strikeouts.

Bryson Houchens finished with a three-inning scoreless stint. He matched walks and strikeouts with one.

Earley was 2-for-3 at the plate. Teammates with hits were Altenbaumer, Haley, McKinney, Logan Rosenthal and Waller.

Altenbaumer and Jacob collected one RBI apiece.

Scoring the team’s runs were Haley, Jacob, Landrus, McKinney and Asher Pruemer.

SJ-O (14-2) returns to action on Monday (April 8) at Stanford Olympia.
