Villa Grove finishes as runner-up at UI Arboretum

Villa Grove captured a runner-up finish on Tuesday in a four-school girls’ cross-country meet at the UI Arboretum, in Urbana.

Team honors were won by Urbana Uni High (19 points), followed by Villa Grove (67), Oakwood (75) and Tuscola (81).

Emma Buesing led the Blue Devils, running the 3-mile course in 24 minutes, 53.09 seconds.

The team’s other five runners finished within 48 seconds of one another.

Scarlett Howard was 20^th in 26:04.41, Madison Logan was 21^st in 26:07.16, Hailey Stutz was 23^rd in 26:38.66, Kyleigh Price was 24^th in 26:42.91 and Jobeth Crafton was 25^th in 26:52.38.

The event served as Villa Grove’s Senior Night. The two seniors are Stutz and Crafton.

The Blue Devils return to action on Thursday (Sept. 23) at Arcola.
